would be to relieve thousands, and, accordingly, he furnished his
document as his contribution to your noble charity.
I enclose you fifty dollars, which please hand to the
proper committee. I will send you, in a day or two, two
autograph books containing autographs of the President, his
Cabinet, and the members of the Senate, and may be able to
send you other interesting documents and autographs.
